Artist's Comments

Actually didn't know what to call it. It's supposed to be one of my characters, a vampire poet named Elliot.

My first official Photo-Manipulation. I say official because I've been practicing a little here or there on other things, but nothing that I could post here, due to copyright laws, etc. Anyway, this is as much a digital painting as a manipulation, but since I painted directly on the photo using a few techniques that outlined in her tutorial, then it is actually a manipulation. I'm no where near as good as her, though, so I eventually just took over doing it my own way. Practice practice practice.

The beautiful boy is ~ He's just soooo pretty. Please check out his stock.

Painted in: Adobe Photoshop Elements, using no particularly special brushes because I don't know how to do that yet. >.<

Great! I've always thought you're very good at this sort of thing (which I pretty much suck at LOL). You did very well on the texture of his skin, and his eyes look great too! You did a very good job with the hair too, looks so different from the original :O
Keep it up! can't wait to see the next one :D

( He has a piercing like Sean's  )

Oooooooooooooooooooh. I like how the finished hair came out. Veeeeery nice. Mm. Pretty ... slightly wavey ... brown hair ... nice length ... :: Cannot help herself; total sucker for that. ... Steals it and runs away. ::

This is great. The original picture and your manipulations flow together pretty seamlessly.

Very lovely indeed. I especially love the hair.

I wasn't entirely sure about the hair. I'm still not, although that seems to be what's gotten the most praise. Which might either mean that it isn't, in fact, very good and everyone is only commenting on it because obviously that's really what sucks the most about it, being that's what I did the most on. LOL Or maybe it is pretty good and I'm overly self-critical. In any case, thank you! I'm quite happy with it in general.

Now if only I could take advantage of fabulous new character picture...and actually play the character more. LOL

Thank you so much. I hope to become super photo-manipulating genius in the near future, and each one, theoretically, will get much better. But for a start, I think I'm generally pretty pleased with this.

Thank you. The hair is what I painted the most on, as the original's hair was....unmanageable. If Elliot's hair is like Almehikilje's he will definitely have to condition and iron it daily. But very pretty all the same. I do love long hair. :sigh:

LOL I'll go with the second option. It's one of your first tries, don't worry too much about it. You'll see digital techniques are easier to master than it seems. After that, the challenge is to experiment with new stuff. Hair is one of the most difficult things to pull off if you're striving for realism, but this mostly looks like a painting and the hair looks just right for the style of the whole thing.
